Meet the 2019-2020 STARS

We are currently the largest high school dance team in Okaloosa County, consisting of 30 dancers who come from a variety of dance backgrounds. We have dancers who have been training since they could walk, dancers who have only had a few years of experience on their middle school dance teams, dancers who are primarily studio trained, and dancers who have only had 1-2 years of training in Mrs. Longo's dance classes here at FWBHS.

 

We pride ourselves on having a diverse team, which is a true reflection of our student body. We are creating an inclusive family that embraces the uniqueness of all individuals. Our team motto is "make it count". Every day, moment, decision, action, practice, performance, etc. Just make it count!

 

Dance is what brings us together, but we also make it a point to spend quality time together as a team. Our team has an elected Social Committee that plans fun events for team bonding, such as Secret Santa, STARSgiving potluck, spooky sock exchange, making Homecoming mums as a team, and many other activities.

 

We work very hard, but we have a lot of fun together too. During our time on STARS, we grow significantly as dancers, but more importantly, we grow as people, and we learn valuable life lessons that help prepare us for our futures. Being on Stars is a huge commitment and sacrifice, but it's totally worth it. The connections that we make with our teammates is like no other bond and the memories that we make together are priceless.
